The Polka Dot Dress.

To me, a polka dot dress is the summer alternative to a LBD, as it is just so versatile and appropriate for pretty much any event, depending on how you accessorise it. I decided to put together a quick outfit that is perfect for daytime and nighttime, you can wear it to work, and then go to a dinner date straight away.  A similar outfit has been sported by many people this season, and I just built up on it a little bit.
The dress, jacket and necklace are all from H&M. I could not find them on the website, however you might still be able to get your hands on them if you visit your local H&M. If not, you can definitely find very similar items in New Look, Forever 21 or whatever similar store you shop at. You could also try online stores such as Asos, DailyLook or Polyvore. If you're not budget-constrained, you can find similar pieces at high-end stores. Just keep in mind that this outfit would work best with a shorter blazer and pulled or rolled up sleeves. It's summer after all.

As to the shoes, you can find similar shoes at H&MForever 21 or Restricted. If money isn't an issue for you, Marc by Marc Jacobs have similar ones as well. I suggest looking around your local stores, however, as you never know what you might find, especially seeing as this shoe style is quite popular lately.

Now, for alternatives. You can always swap the black blazer for a bright or pastel coloured one, as long as you keep the rest of the accessories toned down. Or you could swap the shoes for bright or pastel coloured ones, keeping the blazer black. You get the drift. Plain high heels would look wonderful as well, especially for an evening outing or date. And if you decide to keep the outfit black and white, why not go for a pop of colour on your nails? It's summer after all.
